Policies:

  • No alcoholic beverages whatsoever shall be permitted to be brought into, or consumed in any park area of the city. (Ordinance-City of Boca Raton Parks and Recreation, Article III Section 11-61)
  • No tickets are to be sold, or no admission charges made at the  door or anywhere on City of Boca Raton property. No exceptions.
  • Animals/pets are prohibited in any park area except for service animals for persons with disabilities. (Ordinance-City of Boca Raton Parks and Recreation, Article III Section 11-61)
  • Pursuant to Florida Statue 386-204, the James A. Rutherford Community Center maintains a no smoking policy inside the facility.
  • Fireworks, explosives, highly flammable candles and aerosol sprays are prohibited.
  • No gambling or solicitation in any form is permitted.
  • Decorations, sign, and banners, etc. are not permitted to be attached, taped, nailed or otherwise fastened to any ceiling, wall, painted surface or window at the facility , unless pre-approved by the community center staff.
  • An original Palm Beach County Health Certificate and proof of insurance is required from caterers. The serving of food and/or use of the kitchen facilities must be expressly authorized and approved on the Room Permit.
  • Special Events require a separate permit and twenty (20), business days advance notice.
  • Room Permits are non-transferable.
  • Activities shall cease by 9:30pm on weeknights and 4:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • The City of Boca Raton reserves the right to cancel any group meeting due to Special Events or unforeseen circumstances at any time.
  • Other restrictions may apply.

*The fee is based on a maximum of 3 (3) hours. The three (3) hours includes setup and take-down time.
